Exercise and heart disease

Exercise is of benefit for healthy individuals and also those with cardiovascular disease.

Low doses of vigorous activity bring large benefits.

No dose of vigorous physical activity is associated with higher mortality than inactivity.

People with coronary heart disease who do not exercise have a much higher risk of death compared with people exercising 2-4 times a week.

People who have coronary heart disease and are inactive should aim to build up to 30 minutes on most, if not all days.

So it’s time to get active.
