If you believe that you are eligible for the Ib Covid group, please to go the following link for an appointment. The overall conclusion is that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks by at least 100 to 1.
The South Australian Government has done an excellent job of border control. It now needs to offer more State-based COVID-19 vaccinations.
This is a Public Health priority that needs to be managed at that level.
SETTING MEDICAL PRIORITIES
There were about 10,000 deaths in South Australia in 2020. Four were due to COVID-19. By comparison there were thousands of other preventable deaths from many, many other causes. The priority of General Practice is individualised care and protection against many conditions.
General Practice must continue to provide the critical care only GP’s can offer. We cannot divert our resources away from acute conditions, the care of people with one or more chronic conditions, the diagnosis and management of critical illnesses, and the suffering caused by the increased prevalence of psychological issues.
In just one 4 hour session of General Practice, one of our Doctors diagnosed and managed, among other things, two rare medical disorders, one case of recent onset heart failure following “indigestion” a week prior, and a patient with a blood clot occurring 3 days after a Covid-19 vaccination. This is what makes General Practice central to the nation’s health.
We prioritise our regular GP care, have negotiated extra sessions from our Psychologist, Jonathan Rose, and have put our Practice Nurse, Ken Limosnero, in charge of our vaccination programme.
Your medical care and safety remain our number one priority.
